The Ultimate Guide To Updating Your Holiday Hours

Introduction

Seasons Greetings! Holiday season is just around the corner and this means you may want to adjust important routing configurations depending on your business needs. In this article, we will go over key settings that may need to be adjusted during the Holiday which include:

  • Change Hours of Operations
  • Change After Hours Call Routing
  • Record/Upload a New Greeting for Voicemail

Change Hours Of Operations:

  1. Go to Configurations > Pulse Setup > Call Routing > Call Plans
  2. Choose the desired Call Plan, Click the Edit Button on the far right.
  3. Change the hours of operations for the day of week desired (Please note this is in Military Format, An example is 4:00PM = 16:00 .)
  4. If you simply un-check the box next to that day of week, all calls will go to After Hours routing location.
  5. Save the Changes.  You have now changed the Hours of Operations.

 

 

Change Where After Hours Calls Route:

  1. Go to Configurations > Pulse Setup > Call Routing > Call Plans
  2. Choose the desired Call Plan, Click the Edit Button on the far right.
  3. Click on the Closed Hours routing drop down and select where you would like to change routing to. Many clients will send direct to voicemail if they are closed or you can just leave set up as is.
  4. Save the changes.  You have now changed the After Hours Routing.

 

Record/Upload a New Greeting for Voicemail:

  1. Record your voicemail greeting as an mp3 or wav file.
  2. Go to Configuration > Pulse Setup > Call Routing > Voicemail Boxes
    3.  If you don’t already have one, we suggest you create a standard box for the holidays (ex. ‘Thanksgiving voicemail’, ‘Christmas voicemail’, etc.). This way you don’t have to adjust your default voicemail greeting.
  3. +Voicemail box, Name the Voicemail box,  Select the File that you want to upload as your greeting, Save.
  4. You will now go and most likely change your call plan with instructions above.  Some clients may just adjust their queue or menu with the voicemail greeting but that will depend on your setup.

These changes should be made either before you leave the day before or on the day you want this voicemail to be the option. Remember that you will be responsible for going back in and adjusting that day of week hours of operations and the after hours routing. This is a general setup and all client configurations will vary.***
